DOGG:y to Continue as 5-Member Group Following Contract Expirations; DAVEON and EMMAN Depart

On February 21, BSR ENTERTAINMENT announced that DOGG:y, the powerhouse boy group formed through the intense survival show DOGSHOW 69, would be taking a long break following the conclusion of their contract. Originally debuting as a temporary project group, DOGG:y defied expectations and captured hearts across the globe with their raw charisma, bold musical style, and strong teamwork.

As stated by the agency, the group’s fifth mini album, ‘FURY’, would be their final official release under their current lineup and contract. The promotional tour for FURY began on May 2, 2025, in Seoul, shortly after wrapping up their domestic music show appearances. From there, the group expanded their promotions to various countries across Asia and select parts of the Americas, meeting international fans in what many believed would be a farewell journey.

These global promotions are slated to wrap up on June 30, 2025, just weeks before a meaningful date in DOGG:y’s history.

JULY 13: A BITTERSWEET MILESTONE

July 13, 2025, will mark DOGG:y’s 3rd anniversary since their official debut—and simultaneously, the official end of the group’s original temporary contract. The date holds significant weight for both the members and their devoted fanbase, as it signals the closing of a defining chapter while paving the way for a new one.

SHOCKING TURN: DOGG:Y WILL CONTINUE AS 5-MEMBER GROUP

In an unexpected twist, BSR ENTERTAINMENT announced on June 4 that DOGG:y would not disband as originally planned. Instead, the group will continue forward as a permanent 5-member act, solidifying their status beyond their project group beginnings.

However, not all members will be part of the next phase. The agency confirmed that DAVEON and EMMAN have chosen not to renew their contracts, and will be departing the group after the conclusion of all scheduled activities.

After much discussion and mutual understanding, DAVEON and EMMAN have decided to pursue individual paths. We are deeply grateful for their dedication and contributions, and we will support them in their future endeavors,” BSR ENTERTAINMENT shared in an official statement.

They added that the decision for the group to continue was made after final discussions with all members, aligning with the majority’s consensus.

A NEW CHAPTER IN 2026?

While no official comeback date has been confirmed, insiders and industry rumors suggest that the new 5-member DOGG:y is eyeing a comeback in 2026. The rest of 2025 will serve as a period of rest, reorganization, and rebranding, allowing the group to prepare for a strong and impactful return.

Fans have speculated that the next chapter of DOGG:y may come with a refreshed sound and concept, now that the group has shifted from temporary project to permanent status.

FANS REACT WITH MIXED EMOTIONS

The announcement has triggered a wave of emotional responses across social media platforms. While many fans expressed sadness over the departures of DAVEON and EMMAN, they also welcomed the continuation of DOGG:y as a group.

“July 13 will hit hard. It’s both an end and a beginning,” one fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).

DOGG:y survived a survival show, exceeded expectations as a project group, and now they’re here to stay. I’ll support all seven—past, present, future,” wrote another.

WHAT LIES AHEAD?

DOGG:y's evolution from a temporary survival group to a long-term act is rare—and commendable. With three solid years, five critically acclaimed mini albums, and a growing global fanbase under their belt, the group now stands on the brink of a new era.

Their next steps—be it musically, conceptually, or creatively—are highly anticipated, and fans are watching closely to see how DOGG:y will redefine themselves in 2026 and beyond.

DOGG:y's story isn't ending. It's transforming. Are you ready for Chapter 2?
